FAQs

SEAI Solar Grants Explained: questions

Or call us on 085 236 8494.

Which welfare payments qualify for the enhanced solar grant?

Fuel Allowance, Working Family Payment, One-Parent Family Payment, Domiciliary Care Allowance, Carer's Allowance (living with the person you care for), and Jobseeker's Allowance or Disability Allowance for over six months with a child under seven.

Who has to receive the welfare payment?

In most cases the homeowner must receive the qualifying payment. The exception is Carer's Allowance, where the carer must live full-time in the home.

How is the grant worked out?

It is paid pro rata on system size. On the standard grant a 2kWp system gets €1,400, 3kWp gets €1,600 and 4kWp gets the €1,800 maximum. On the enhanced grant those figures are €6,700, €7,550 and €8,400.

Can I start the installation before approval?

No. SEAI cannot accept applications for installations that have already started, so get approval first.

Are Bravo Contracts Safe Electric registered and insured?

Yes. Bravo Contracts Ltd is a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor, is registered with SEAI and is fully insured. Qualifying work is tested and certified on completion.

How much will my electrical job cost?

Our call-out rate is €95 per hour plus materials. Common jobs such as rewires, fuse board upgrades, EV chargers and PIRs have guide prices on each service page, and commercial and agricultural work is priced after a site visit.
