FAQs

Solar Panel Installation: questions

Or call us on 085 236 8494.

How much is the SEAI solar panel grant?

The SEAI Solar PV grant is €700 per kWp up to 2kWp, plus €200 for each additional kWp up to 4kWp, capped at €1,800. A 5kWh battery adds a €600 grant, so the maximum is €2,400.

Can I get a €9,000 solar grant?

Homeowners receiving a qualifying Department of Social Protection payment, such as Fuel Allowance, Working Family Payment or One-Parent Family Payment, can apply for the Enhanced Solar PV grant: up to €8,400 for panels, or €9,000 with a battery.

Do I need grant approval before installing?

Yes. SEAI requires grant approval before any work starts. You then have 8 months to complete the installation and submit the paperwork.

Is my home eligible for the solar grant?

Your home needs an MPRN, must have been built and occupied before 2025, and must not have had solar PV funding before at that MPRN.

Can my solar panels charge my EV?

Yes. With a myenergi Zappi charger, eco modes can divert surplus solar into your car.

Are Bravo Contracts Safe Electric registered and insured?

Yes. Bravo Contracts Ltd is a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor, is registered with SEAI and is fully insured. Qualifying work is tested and certified on completion.

How much will my electrical job cost?

Our call-out rate is €95 per hour plus materials. Common jobs such as rewires, fuse board upgrades, EV chargers and PIRs have guide prices on each service page, and commercial and agricultural work is priced after a site visit.
